I meant jib. Dumb autocorrect.I’m loving it, Jaybird! I’m still trying to figure out the difference between a job and a jibe. Sometimes I think I am starting to get it and a look at someone else’s log and my mind explodes.

Thanks Victator, maybe we will both be done with our Pearls by Thanksgiving. So far, so good, Jay!
Yep, I can’t believe that real life gets in the way of our hobbies. Oh, what a world. Hope that the fires are out now.It doesn’t look too good for me. I just picked up 3 extra days of work this week. I was only going to go in 2. And then the Admiral comes up with a honey do list.
I looked it up and you are absolutely correct, jib sails. Unfortunately the pirate sail maker had too much rum when he was sewing them. He will get 30 lashes with a wet noodle. Yep, wing nut 1966-70.I think they are called jib sails, Jay. On my Connie, they lined the stitching more or less vertically. This is a nonexistent ship so I guess it doesn’t matter. I think it’s looking great. Happy Veterans Day. Weren’t you a wing nut?
That’s okay, Jay. I put the doors to the captains quarters two inches too far back. Not going to worry about it though. I like ZHL kits, but they’re a little hard to follow. Some pictures have stuff done before they’re supposed to be.I looked it up and you are absolutely correct, jib sails. Unfortunately the pirate sail maker had too much rum when he was sewing them. More of an open concept captain’s quarters. So far at least on this kit I have to agree with you about ZHL.That’s okay, Jay. I put the doors to the captains quarters two inches too far back. Sounds like all of my builds, be that scale or in 1:1...I’m on my third “mistake, whoops, should-a-done differently, etc.“ build. My first build is now displayed on the Fireplace Mantel. All our visitors only see a ship rigged with sails. ONLY I SEE THE MISTAKES and DO-OVERS.
It’s all about the fun of creating and learning new skills.

I think I see Hank Williams there!Welp I am going getting pretty far along with the rigging so I thought I would make a Jack Sparrow flag. I printed an image of it off the internet then traced it onto tracing paper then to a piece of canvas. When I traced both sides of the canvas it was time to paint and I used acrylics. Time to make some hanks and put the barrels and pails on deck. View attachment 196294View attachment 196295
It looks really cool, though, Jay! I’m loving it. I hope mine looks as good when I’m finished. Before I joined this forum and was starting on this kit I decided to install some lighting. This is the first time I tried them out. If I had it to do over again I would have tried them out when I first installed them. I would have chosen low light flickering yellow. At the time I didn’t even know that there was such a type of lighting. Another learning experience.
