Thank you, getting old isn’t for the weakVery sorry to hear you are back in the hospital.![]()

Thank you,Ted, Sorry to hear that you are in the hospital. My prayers that you get better quickly!
Rob

Thank you for your kind words. Being a word junkie, have to read everyday, I think I'll get the book does it have a lot of illustrations showing details of the mast paper and rigging.I bought this book with the same intention... I would say that it's very dense, technical and wordy, and way too advanced for me. It's probably the ultimate reference book on the subject, but man it's hard going.
For someone with a bit of time on their hands, however, who might be in hospital and a bit bored, this book would be a fascinating deep-dive research project.
Hope you're on the mend Ted and that you can soon get back home to your therapeutic ship-building. All the scientific research shows that the people who have a project to engage them and move forwards with are those who get better faster!

I bought that one. Holding off on the other due to medical expenses this month setting my budget on fire.Ted, I have this book which to be honest is the opposite of wordy! It essentially has diagrams which are quite good. I found it useful.

To reduce this in scale, and yet retain an accurate representation, is an awesome...www.worldofbooks.com

For me, as Rob444 says, the Petersson book is way more useful.
That says it all. Not what I was looking for. ThanksThe 18thC Rigging book DOES have diagrams of the rigging, but to be honest, they're lost in the dense text. It's a very big book, highly technical, definitely one for academics and those who are deep into the details of rigging. I'll just add a sample page, one of the more useful ones, so you can judge.

I jumped the gun and ordered a copy. Nothing to do here in the hospital but wait. Should be back building this week.Glad to have helped! I'll probably end up selling my copy, much as it looks very impressive on my bookshelf.

I’ll probably have to find my way to a patio or at least outside.Good morning Ted. Wishing you all the best with your health. Be strong and keep building you are making great progress. Kudos on the deck planking it is looking mighty fine. You are going to have to ask the hospital for a room to sand everything. Cheers Grant

Thank youSending healing and good thoughts your way, Ted !
