Hello guys,thanks for the birthday wishes , visiting my log and likes.

Then stern construction continues with planking and building up the stern windows casing by adding wood fillers

Great progress, Zoly! I am guessing, that novice model builders will have the same question as myself: How do you manage to bend the planks along the edges? Did you make a jig or bend each plank individually?

Thanks Janos,I am not going to fix it,I can’t,at the ster I will cover with planking the upper deck over the cabin

The bottom part of the window casings will be Alaskan yellow chedar to match the stern decors like in this images

Yes ,the side galleries will be slightly larger a little bit ,hardly visible once the upper deck is installed

Hello guys,I need a little help,I am looking for a tutorial how to cut gratings ,I seen it somewhere when I did not need it ,but can’t find one now,thanks!

I have seen photos of basic method, depends on if you are using a mill or saw to make cuts.

you take a stack of thin strips and you can make longer than needed and glue ends together (cut off to release each board when done), then using table saw, set fence and make cuts to match wood width and move over for grate opening size and repeat until other end is reached. Mill method is same, done from top side with narrow mill bit.

Hi Zoly, check the La Salamander build log from Koreets ( One more chinese kit of La Salamandre) He made cratings using mill
