Prostate Cancer

So been quiet lately because been so busy. I found out this fall I have stage 4 Prostate cancer. between work meds and dr appointments ive been feeling tired all the time so I goto work when I can and then come home and sit around falling asleep in chair.
I start vacation today and monday go back to the dr. they are going to do 12 more biopsies see how things are going. the good news is prostate cancer is like 100% curable and at stage 4 its 85-100%. i dont have an aggressive type so dr says nothing for me to worry abt but i just feel weak from treatments. there is a possibility i wont need to have proistrate removed as so far treatments seem to be working. it all depends on results of mondays biopsies what happens next.

Just thought let ppl know why I dissapeared for a while but i do try to follow builds when I can

Joe
All the best Joe. The robotic assisted surgery is brilliant as it requires smaller incisions and less muscle damage. Recovery is usually much quicker too. I hope all the other tests are clear and you can concentrate on recovery. I'm a fellow traveler.

correct, the robotic is the way to go with this. Much better. Get well, keep us posted. Dear Lord, we pray for complete healing and full recovery for Joe.

well guys they finally got to operate on me thursday. everything went well and just waiting to see if tests on lymph nnodes outside the prostate are clean and if they are I am cancer free. I came home yesterday about noon and am not doing too bad. I have a catheter im using til june 1 then they take it out and got first nioght sleep in 3 days last night. now if only i can take a crap. he has me on prescribed softners so we shall see. I am abt to get another bottle of that magnesium citrate lol that will soften it. once i can get a BM I sb good right now i can feel the pressure but cant get rid of anything.

ok TMI but thats where I am at right now.

well im on stool softners the cramping is bad but the paperwork said be 2 to 3 days eww the pressures killing me. but june 1 catheter out then its all down hill. last night was first sleep I got in 3 days literally and i was out like a light

It sounds by your post that you are really miserable - sorry to hear that - I hate magnesium citrate - yucky. At some point very soon all this will be ok and it will be a memory.
I guess I was fortunate with my little scare. I did have the biopsy and came back clean. I am taking Dutestaride and Tomsulosin both to bring my PSA levels down and seems to be working.

Saying a prayer and wishing you the best results! Feeling poisoned from not being able to take a good dump makes life almost unbearable. Like all things...it'll all work out :)

Keep care and I wish you a fast recovery - I am crossing all fingers

Get well soon, Joseph, and don't take too much of that magnesium whatever. It is not good for you. Try some nice Hungarian Palinka (the stronger the better) instead!

Mate. I'm out of action with diarrhea at the moment. We should get together. ;)
I had my radical prostatectomy in 2017 and am doing well so keep your head up and good luck with the tests.
