It seems to me that the perts (these are the ropes on which the sailors stand with their feet when they fold the sail) are thin. What is the rope diameter and yarn thickness? And one more thing: the distance from the perts to the ray should be about the waist of the sailor in real scale. Maybe you are right. Need to check. Here is a picture for an example.

Sasha, the rigging line is MS WP1218. .2mm jewelry nylon. What width do you recommend? I fix the distance. Thanks again.

The perths of the lower yards were 1.75 inches thick; on the upper yards they were somewhat thinner. This is life size. It needs to be recalculated to your scale

Serious question Sasha, how do I figure out the proper size?
1.75 inches is 44.45 mm. You have a 64 scale model, right? Divide 44.45 by 64 and get 0.69 mm. For the lower yards, on your scale, a rope of 0.7 mm is obtained, for the upper yards, you can take 0.5 mm. Sorry about the metric system, it's more convenient for me.

Thank you Sasha. I'm a retired Marine Infantryman...but my wife is from Prague, metric has become easier for me but my math skills are bad.

Before securing for the night.... I had an urge to check the lines that I staged yesterday. Painters tape is a no go. I'm going to have to figure out some other way to store the lines. I'm glad I checked now, it would have been extremely difficult to fix those after the shrouds were in.20210801_222121.jpg

I had to revisit some work from the weekend. After finished the first boomkin.... I had a feeling that I should check the lines from the weekend. I'm glad I did and will never use painting tape to secure lines. If I would have found this out after I put up the shroud, there would have been no way to put new lines in.20210731_232327.jpg20210801_222121.jpg20210802_224626.jpg

While waiting for the serving machine, I decided to redue the spars that I used to hold the launch. Originally I used thin dowels...which over this short amount of time started to warp. So I made a thicker spar that turned out much better than the spars I used for the masts.... I just might go back and reduce those. The good news is that the serving machine showed up yesterday. My first test run; what took an hour to do by hand now takes minutes and the result is much better. Now I have become a serving fool..... 20210810_112909.jpg20210809_204300.jpg20210810_110253.jpg20210810_110243.jpg
