Finally I got the kit some days ago, well packed and sent by Max at ZHL. It is the same kit our member ADC presented already in his building log, so I will add only some additional information. Also I want to show in the beginning some more photos of the content of the kit, due to the fact, that you can not find any real good or complete explanation or documentation of the content / parts of the kit.

In the web, you can find the model shown on different ways built, means with masts and rigging, admirality or even open with the view on the complete interior.

Here are some photos of the kit supplier to show the final result

The rigged model seems to be an older or one of the first revisions of the kit. The wood quality is now much better

One reason, why I bought this kit and not one of the several other beautifull kits like the HMS Enterprise (Brian and Paul thanks for your helping in the decision) was the fact, that I have also the great plan monographie written by Jean Boudriot and Hubert Berti. It is one of the olders publications from Ancre, but it will be a great source of information and details during the built. The principle is the idea, that I will compare every construction step with the drawings from Boudriot and to adjust if necessary and reasonable......
Here is the link to the ancre publication of the Salamandre

BTW: The booklet is in french, but also in english language available

So this is the start of a building log, it will take me and hopefully also some of you onto a trip for the next months (or years).......

Thanks for showing Uwe. There is an enormous amount of detail in this kit. So many laser cut components and quantity of timber strips in many sizes. Still trying to work out where it all goes. I am now assembling the ribs which I will show in my update next week and they are exactly matching to the ANCRE plans rib by rib.

G'day Use, I'll bet you are happy, it is looking like a really great kit, I will follow your build, I'm sure it will be interesting, have fun.
I looked at the kit before Xmas but it only came with the hull then, maybe later on I will buy it,

Best regards John.

Hallo my friends,
many many thanks for your interest in this model and your very encouraging words and likes.
Hope to have during the coming weekend some time to start the first works and to show more details of the kit and parts
....see you soon

Uwe, it is now the weekend. Hope you will enjoy the start of your new venture.
Remember, easy does it (the job).
Forget about the results, just focus ONLY on the process, and the results will take care of itself.
Will enjoy dropping in to watch your creativity.

G'day Uwek
Congratulations on purchasing this fantastic kit. I going to pull up a nice comforts arm chair to watch this build with interest. By the look of it, it will be a long time until it's completed....but many happy hours of building it to come.
Havagooday and happymodeling

Hi, Could you tell me if there is a jig for the frames for THIS KIT. Don

Yes, there is one......in one of my first posts I showed the parts for it

Due to the fact, that one part of the jig in my kit was damaged (waiting for spare from Max) I am not able to show the jig built, but in the net you can find some photos of the actual jig. But visit the log of ADC of this model, he is showing his jig built waiting for the frames.

In the web you can find also older versions of a jig, but these ones are not available any more (or they were not included in my kit)

Hi Uwe, do you have any idea what the two jig pieces numbered 45 are for? Nothing about them in the diagram or instructions and as yet cannot work out what they are for. I suspect they have something to do with the keel and transom structure but at this stage I am not there yet.

No clue in moment....have to think about when I am sitting in front of my kit.....will come back with some guess asap
