Wright Brothers "Flyer" 1903

Don't know how I've been able to completely miss your latest updates, but apparently I just did that.
Your Wright flyer is a thing of beauty, a worthy representation of the original breakthrough contraption and an accomplishment to be proud of.
This model deserves to be placed where it can't be not seen...

O man to late... Just discover this build. You make a wonderful airship. Interesting to see how the jig works, your nice stitching on the wingcloths, the little engine and parts. Weldone. I hope with the next build to be there from the beginning.
Thank you for that fine complement, Stephan. If you are interested in my next build which I just recently started click on this link Visit the B-17

Good morning everyone, another update from my hanger/shipyard. After trimming out the upper and lower wing rib plan from the large main sheet, I taped them down to their cardboard bases then built up the first wing jig onto the top wing plan.

With the jig in place, I can now start setting the wings ribs. There are over 160 rib elements, so I created a little sanding helper with a 1/16x1/4 scrap piece. With just a little light sanding on them I was able to thread 20 or so of these ribs at a time onto the scraps for a bulk light sanding of the char and keep a much more uniform finish in leu of doing them one at a time.

Thanks for checking in.
Till next time hope you have a great time.
Tremendously clever idea on the ribs but more importantly removing the char. It has been a question I have wrestled with as I have three of these kits. Your solution is so much better than cleaning things up after assembly. Keep that big brain of your working as I will look for your next clever solution.
