Pavel Nikitin Oseberg #3 kit #61

My go to glue for shipbuilding is "Titebond II". I've become the Master of "Do-Overs". Somewhere I read about using vinegar to loosen glued parts versus using a heat gun or hot water. So.....

I applied a thin bead of vinegar along the glue seams, waited a few minutes and carefully pried the parts apart.

You should test the vinegar on a piece of scrap to see if there is any reaction.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the tip. I've heard about the vinegar thing, I was always worried about it discoloring the wood. I'll give it a try, if it worked for you I'm sure it'll work for me.

I ordered the mast step upgrade from Pavel as well, hopefully the tariff thing doesn't delay our delivery too much.

Have you signed on to Pavel's site?? That would show an estimateed ship date for your order.

Indeed that will an impressive amount of sawdust. Probably a good thing to do outside.
Daniel FYI --I ordered the 1/32th Viking - August 8, - Pavel's estimated ship date is Oct 10 - + shipping time Hmmmmm Oh well Cautious
