HMS Sovereign of the Seas - Bashing DeAgostini Beyond Believable Boundaries

You know, if I didn't know better I'd say this guy is just copying and pasting some of the dragons he already did. :p :p

When you get some time do a screen grab with everything turned on so we can see how much progress you've made.

Hey... I only copied ONE of the dragons. All of the others were stretched and shaped to match Payne's engraving. Oh, and if I loaded ALL the 3-D objects to make a screen shot like you want, my computer might blow up after running out of data. Still, it might be worth a try... If you don't hear from me again, you know what happened.

Excellent work Kurt! You are really becoming good at using the software.
Thanks Dean. Its funny how, when I use a new technique or method, I forget how to use it or to apply it weeks later on a different 3-D object! Sometimes I forget entirely what methods were used five or six objects ago. I still such at making proper topology ans rely on tools to remesh an object to get it to appear properly or to eliminate interior polygons and other common errors. Using the Bildeform tool to create the bas reliefs often removes small details or warps parts or a model and you have to re-sculpt parts of it.

I spend the last couple of days re-visiting my older objects and used the Bildeform tool to convert them to new bas relief objects. The results were mixed. Often the program crashed, and subsequent attempts succeeded for some reason. Re-doing the older models is a must, since my skills have changed drastically, and the amount of techiques, tools, and methods for modelling has increased.

Here are some of the objects that were re-worked. Some of the small details were flattened out, and only printing the objects will reveal if they will look good.

Impressive build. I am still a bit speechless after viewing this thread.
I have been learning along the way. It's not an easy hobby to get into and 'do well from the bat'. But seeing your model is inspiring.
Thanks for showing.
Cheers.

Thank you @Swabbie . If you start from the beginning of the log, you will see how this build has been a long journey of learning for me, drawing ideas and knowlegd from other build logs. La Couronne was built first, and that build log is also on this forum. Work on the 3-D objects has been slow, about 1-1/2 years of work so far, and it will be great to get back to physical work on the model.
