Back at it making decoration files...Ditto
Keep climbing, Grant. It's only a matter of time before you start making workable 3-D models too.Good morning Kurt. This is a true story, however I'm on the first rung while you are well on the way to the top. Your design work is brilliant. Cheers Grant
Hey... I only copied ONE of the dragons. All of the others were stretched and shaped to match Payne's engraving. Oh, and if I loaded ALL the 3-D objects to make a screen shot like you want, my computer might blow up after running out of data. Still, it might be worth a try... If you don't hear from me again, you know what happened. You know, if I didn't know better I'd say this guy is just copying and pasting some of the dragons he already did.![]()
When you get some time do a screen grab with everything turned on so we can see how much progress you've made.
Thanks Paul! I think I'm putting as much work into these as you did making ropes for your Vasa.Heroic effort, Kurt...
Yes. But I have also now vowed to never make ropes again. You?Thanks Paul! I think I'm putting as much work into these as you did making ropes for your Vasa.
I'm not done making 3-D objects. Less than halfway through at the moment... I'm crazier than you.Yes. But I have also now vowed to never make ropes again. You?

Excellent work Kurt! You are really becoming good at using the software.Per @rtwpsom2 's suggestion, I loaded all the current objects into Blender. I found a few errors that were corrected as a result. Some of the decroations required rescaling in the X-axis for variations in Payne's engraving. A few pillers were missing also. Here is the overall result.

Thanks Dean. Its funny how, when I use a new technique or method, I forget how to use it or to apply it weeks later on a different 3-D object! Sometimes I forget entirely what methods were used five or six objects ago. I still such at making proper topology ans rely on tools to remesh an object to get it to appear properly or to eliminate interior polygons and other common errors. Using the Bildeform tool to create the bas reliefs often removes small details or warps parts or a model and you have to re-sculpt parts of it.Excellent work Kurt! You are really becoming good at using the software.

Thank you @Swabbie . If you start from the beginning of the log, you will see how this build has been a long journey of learning for me, drawing ideas and knowlegd from other build logs. La Couronne was built first, and that build log is also on this forum. Work on the 3-D objects has been slow, about 1-1/2 years of work so far, and it will be great to get back to physical work on the model.Impressive build. I am still a bit speechless after viewing this thread.
I have been learning along the way. It's not an easy hobby to get into and 'do well from the bat'. But seeing your model is inspiring.
Thanks for showing.
Cheers.
