DE 7 PROVINCIËN (1665) 1:50

Furthermore something I wanted to add were the depth marks.
I learned those marks were applied on the bow on the starboard side (on the stern on the port side) in the form of Roman numerals that were tilted to form a clear line from which the draft could be read.
This turned the x into a +, the L into more of a tilted V, and the I's were replaced by a dot.
I used a sharpened mini screwdriver.

And now for something completely different, but somewhat related. One of the houses, the only house in Flushing (Vlissingen) where admiral Michiel de Ruyter, who commanded "De 7 Provinciën" has certainly lived, is for sale. That would be a good place to build and display my model.
I sent the link to my own admiral .. "you are not serious, are you?" ROTF Well...

Very, very convincing. Admittedly, I'm still looking for something to pick on and criticize, so you don't have it too easy with me :), but it's proving too difficult, even impossible. You're not going to paint it, are you...?
Thank you for your very generous comments Waldemar. Believe me, there is some to criticize, but we ourselves are our own worst critics and I seem to succeed well in correcting/disguising earlier made mistakes.

Sorry, you make me doubt again, but I intend to only paint the 2 lower wales (Van Dyck Brown) and the clinker planking + base of the stern (both phtalo green - I think a good base for peer carvings).
