I was not sure about the insides of the bulwarks, whether to paint them red or varnish them,
This shows the template for the bulwarks, I have painted it red to see what it looks like, it can be removed as it is only the template,
I then decided to varnish them, thinking that if I did not like the varnish look I could still paint them red, the last six pics shows them varnished, what do you guys think, I'd like to know

So I masked off the bulwark areas.

These next six pics show the varnished bulwarks and the fittings.
All opinions appreciated.

I like the varnish. It matches the other things on the deck like the ladders and bollards. Will you put a satin clear over the varnish color?

G'day Norgale, the varnish itself is Satin, I'm looking for what used to be called Eggshell Varnish,
it is clear and in between Matt varnish and Satin varnish, thank you for viewing my log,

best regards john.

This is an amazing job! I don't really have words to describe how astonished i am. After seeing this build from the begining non stop i just want to pick up my tools and start something. Hat's off too you!
Thank you for sharing your build!

G'day Brito, thank you for the very generous comments, I wish you all the best for your modeling,

Best regards John,

G'day Crew, I cannot believe that it is three months since I worked on my Royal Caroline, I will have to try and do some more work on her,
Best regards John,

I think thats it for tonight, but just a little teaser of what is to come, I hope you are enjoying the build so far, its a little drawn out but I know new comers to the hobby have a lot of questions and I try to show how things go together,View attachment 23935
I think some of the established kit manufactures could learn a few lessons from ZHL. JANET

Wow didn't realize its been 15 months since my last post on the RC, I have to get cracking, I'm going to try and finish the lighting system, but bear with me I'm not up to much with kind of stuff, as i told Geoff anything electrical I used to send for Alec ???, Alectrician,:rolleyes::rolleyes:, anyway here we go,

They have already started loading supplies, these are some of a lot of 1/30 scale figures i bought a few years back,

This is the state the electrics were left in the two wires nearest ( red and green ) come up through the keel
and the bunch behind them go to the stern Lanthorns,

I decided to fix the cabin lights on the ceiling of the cabin and will splice, solder them into the other wiring, I
will probably run some wood alongside of them, although when the roof is on you cannot see the wires,

and a view of the cabin front with the lights on,
