Hello everyone,
I've been modeling for almost 60 years now, whether it was plastic cars, boats or airplanes, I've also been building and flying RC airplanes for years but I was always fansinated with wooden model ships, so when I got the itch to build one I started with the Artesanea Latina...
Hi guys. I started this build back in July and have been recording progress for family via smart phone. I have no excuse for not sharing it here with those that are invested in this crazy world of model building. So anyway without further a do I will embark upon this task now with considerable...
Hi, I'm Juan from Uruguay. I'm 37 and I've been getting back to making plastic models. I haven't done this since my early teenage years although I have Made many paper models.
It's hard making time for it in between playing guitar, surfing, training everyday and rock climbing but every chance...
Unfortunately i have joined after completing some of the build, i completed the hull build using the kit materials (yes the horrible bamboo), I then discovered the Sovereign of the Seas 1637 book by John Mckay and misguidedly decided to make alterations to the kit, believing it to be more...
HMS Sovereign of the Seas - Bashing DeAgostini Beyond Believable Boundaries - by DARIVS ARCHITECTVS
Well, I just finished La Couronne and its display case a few hours ago, and swore that I would take a break before starting another project.
That didn't happen. On to Ship #2.
Research on...
Hi Everyone,
I have wanted to build this kit for a longtime; I will “attempt” to super detail this project beyond the “out of the box” kit – as excellent as it is. I have the McKay book (filled with excellent line drawings and images; it will be an excellent guide, along with stunning museum...
Recently I introduced the 1:144 scale WASA kit that was published by Airfix during the 1980s. It was one of my favorites in their sailing ship series; and one which I wanted to bring to another level due to its detail. With research (and patience), I was able to convert this plastic kit into a...

Hello Everyone
Firstly,a few of the longer standing members will remember this log before the crash.Unfortuneately my images were lost when my laptop harddrive fried so I was unable to repair the log.
I am going to attempt to present a sequence of pictures that show the best I can,the progress...
As some of you know, I am relatively new to this forum. I am posting from the beginning, a build log of my Royal William of which I have already over 3 years of building. I also have a complete build log of the Mantua Sovereign of the seas which I completed about 3 years ago. It started as the...
Here is my version of the Sovereign of the Seas.
I am at the beginning so just glued the frame together and the first 2 decks and also the first planks are on the ship.
The next step will be to add some LEDs.
I will post a picture when I have finished all the smoldering work.
As said in the Subject line this is a POB kit build, but will be bashed to death - nothing but the keel and bulkheads are going to be used, everything else from scratch. The scale is a bit out of my usual as I love around 1:50 the most but this is a big ship, it will hardly fir into my cabinets...
Good day,
I have been building my Sovereign of the Seas kit for some years now and will start with a few comments about it. I basically took the bones of the kit and built the framework of the ship and then duplicated all the bulkheads and deck parts I had used and put the kit back together and...
Since the level of detail a person may add and the availability and amount of research a person may chose to perform will vary with each modeler, the times I show are related to the actual work performed on the vessel. Each person’s ability to read and interpret plans can vary a great detail...
