Wonderful work, really impressive. The coloring with the mint green and gold looks great.

Hello Everyone. I finally got a little time to work on more of the Port side Carvings and the Day Cabin Outside Windows. Though the Kits Carvings are beautiful, they however require a considerable amount of trimming and sanding/cleanup. A couple of Notes for a Few GLARING Kit mistakes------- The Upper Bulwarks Carving Strips DO NOT MATCH the Plans!!!! Looks like when they produced these parts, they mirror imaged the cutout pattern versus looking at the Plans for the correct Imagery of the layout????????? Nothing anyone can do but use the Bulwarks Carvings as is because the average person would never know!!!!!
The other mistake is the kit wants you to install an additional Cap Rail onto the top of the Bulwarks Carvings. This is not correct because the Carving already has the Cap Rail Edge attached to the Carving. I will post more pictures and better clarification on this soon.
These Pictures only show the rough layout and nothing is attached yet except for the one Long Bulwarks Carving Strip that is already Painted.
More to Come........................................................................

G'day Rick, I have been thinking about finishing my first Royal Caroline which is Pearwood, and starting my second Royal Caroline which is Boxwood, I have been checking measurements ( again ) and I see you said all your plans were different, so I got my plans out and laid the keel assembly over them and the keel assembly fit them exactly,

these three pics above are the Vertical section plan,

and these three are the side view,
the deck plans are the same, the only plan that does not fit is the plan shown below,

this is the decoration plan, this is the only plan that the decorations sit on perfectly and it is 35mm or 1.5" longer than the others, this is why i was saying that the model hull needed extending,

best regards john,

I noticed also that you said the kit model was too long, but I found a piece you had posted working out the sizes, I couldnt quite see all your workings out but it looks like you are saying that the deck length is 90feet and one inch which i agree with, and that the 90feet and one inch at 1/30 scale is 95.47 feet, which I dont think it is, 1/30 scale is 2feet 6inches or 2.5 inches and when divided into the 90 feet one inch on the deck you you have 36 inches which is exactly what the model is,

Hello john,
I use a Computer Engineering Scale Converter that will convert any Scale that not only shows the model scale, it also converts the actual size as well. At 1:30 Scale, my figures are correct based on my particular kit plans. I have a feeling that there was no Quality Control over the Plans for the kits when they produced the model kits??? I highly suspect that each kit produced will have different size plans because the copying process may be flawed????

WIP---
Hello Everyone. Finally got a little time this week to work on the model. My process for assembly consist of getting the Port & Starboard Cabin Windows and the Upper Moldings done & mounted. This is critically important in order to get the Correct Angle on the Upper Moldings in conjunction with the windows. I also wanted to make sure that the measurements were correct for the Cabin Roof Planking and the Roofs side molding that will be above the Windows (The Edging of the Roof Per Say) that will be installed at a later time.
The Kit manufacturer wants the model builder to install preformed pieces over the existing Carvings and install another piece of timber over the top edge of all the Railings for some unknown reason???????? This is a Huge Glaring Mistake on the part of the kit manufacturer!!!!! The Molding Carvings already have the Outside Edge on them! The Top Rail gets glued or attached to the Carvings!!!! The Kit Plans or the actual drawings clearly DO NOT show any such additional added Top Edging material whatsoever!!! I will go into more depth on this when I get to the point of the Railings being attached.

G'day Rick, its the part where you say on the real ship the deck length is as below,

Real ship,

90.1 ft long on Deck

then you say

90.1 @ 1.30 = 95.47 ft, 90.1 feet @ 1/30 scale is just a fraction over 3feet,
