Rudder attached with the Rudder Boot Seal installed. The kit supplies a piece of Dark simulated leather that is supposed to be used but its to stiff & rigid & doesn't look anything like a Rudder Seal. The Seal is normally Faded from Sea Water and constant use causes. I have attached a picture from another Royal Caroline build that shows a similar Seal as mine. I also attached a picture of the kit supplied leather & what I used.

Just to note that the elastic tissue used can be found in drug store.

Hello everyone. Haven't been able to update my progress lately due to a hectic work schedule. I decided not to use the kit provided pedestals. The reason being is the wood material the kit manufacturer used is a very soft (to me, unknown) wood that I believe doesn't provide long term stability for such a large & heavy scale model. So I decided to make a pair of cradles instead. My goal was to have the cradles blend in with the Hull of the model because I want the center of attention to be on the model itself and not so much on the display base and the cradle/Pedestals. I used Poplar and some leftover scrap pieces for the base & decorative strips and lined the Hull to Cradle with a soft felt lining so as to not mar up the Hull.

Hello everyone everywhere. I have finished installing the 6 Stern cabin lights along with the 4 rear stern windows. I also installed all the wiring that will be needed for the 3 Stern Lanterns. I used the color Warm White (3.2 volt LED) lights. I choose to use a Greyish color material that is from a plastic Binder that I had. I choose this because it has the perfect scaled crist-cross mesh lines imbedded into the material. The Binder material plus the use of the cut out CD cover for the glass gives the lighting a soft whitish-yellowish color I was striving for. All the excess wiring you see will be cut off and soldered at some point soon. Top Carving Piece has been painted & will be attaching it tomorrow and then I have some paint touching up to do.

Some more progress on the stern, Getting ready to start on the Port rear side with more carvings. I will come back later on & attach the 4 Dolphins and the 2 Lower Stern Figures and the Cheese Lockers door ropes.
