Hello Ship Mates, Today the little fellows and I have completed cleaning up all of the Port side hull decorations, we have painted them gold and applied them to our little ship. We have also reapplied the channels and there spacers and given them a coat of Polyurethane and have started going over our HMY Fubbs with touch ups.

She’s looking good, Lawrence!

Hello Ship Mates, Work continues on our HMY Fubbs, The little fellows and I have painted and installed the deadeyes large and small on the ships channels, we have installed the ships tiller. We have also been painting the 3 figurines that we will use as a crew, however the two officers remain unfinished at this time. We are also cleaning up what seams like a ton of dust, touching up the paint as we discover any nicks and chips.
Regards Lawrence

Steady progress does the trick. I’ll be looking through this build again when I finish my Connie.

Yup, this is awesome.

Hello Ship Mates, Today the little fellows and I cleaned up and assembled the ships stern lantern, we then painted it gold and installed it on the rear transom. We did a bit more clean up and spent a lot of time looking at the the mizzen mast, trying to decide if we will add a couple of sails to our HNY Fubbs that we are leaning that way.
Regards Lawrence

It will be interesting doing braces with no main mast.

Hello Ship Mates, Yesterday the little fellows and I decided that we should try to taper our mizzen mast. Normally I would use my old cast iron Delta drill press that is very heavy to do this task. But as it turns out the mizzen mast is 24 1/2" or 62.3 cm much too long to fit in my drill press. So we tipped the drill press on it's side, swing the work table aside, clamped an idler to the base and threaded our mast trough the base and the idler. Starting at the drill press chuck we started sanding to the base of the drill press and then extending the mizzen further trough the idler we completed tapering our mast Now we can move forward to determine do we want sails or not.

Hi Lawrence, sails would be a nice addition to the model.

Hello Ship Mates, The little fellows and I have returned to the scratch build serrano of a couple of years plus of kit building. We have built the Mizzen mast platform and it's lower supports timbers. Our plans for the railing on the aft side of the platform shows 3 stanchions but because of the length of this railing at this scale we added the forth stanchion.

Nice work on the platform, the fourth stanchion for the rail looks good.
