Good evening Gilbert. I wish you guys all the best- a win at home would be magnificent, however the Springboks(SA) will spoil your party ROTF . What ever the outcome it is going to be a fabulous Rugby World Cup with a lot of French flair. Cheers Grant

Clearly, at least in this case, Panart must be one of the best kit manufacturers out there. Any remark, experiences and recommendations with other models they produce?

Hi Peter
Thanks for your feedback
I have to say that I am happy with the documentation, the laser engraved sheets and the metallic parts that Panart includes in the kit.
However, I am disappointed by the quality of the wood strips provided. they tend to split quite easily and are not that smooth

Thanks, Gilbert. Looks like kit bashing is unavoidable no matter what box you open, or the brand.

Pete

Hello
I have now completed booklet #5 of the Panart kit, finishing the deck decorations.
The last week was related to building and installing the crane used to move the various small boats on the ship. Quite a long process.

I then completed the poop deck decorations and installed the large number of rings/hooks on the three decks (quite a tedious and long process).
Below the pictures of the three decks

A beautiful assembly of complex parts, Gilbert. And the overall look makes her more and more impressive.
Regards, Peter

Bravo Gilbert!!
Are you watching any of the Rugby? It has been a brilliant World Cup so far.
Cheers Grant

Hey Grant
Yes, I watch the Rugby (not all the games though). In addition to the French game, I watched the game between South Africa against Scotland; quite impressive team. The game against Ireland will be the real challenge for SA; I'll definitely look forward to this one.

Hello all
I have started working on the small boats.
This will be definitely time consuming considering there is a total of 10 boats on the deck of the Vespucci,
First is the 10m motor boat and there are 2 of these.

Planking for the first motor is done and I started the second one.

This is definitely a repetitive process we have to go thru. In order to be more fun, I have started work on the deck fitting.
First thing is the bowsprit.

Next steps will be to complete the two 10m motor boats and continue on the bowsprit.

Hello
The two 10 meter motor boats are done (some adjustments to be made on the second one)

I am also working on the 8.5 meter motor boats. One is ready to be painted, while the second one still requires some work.

In parallel, I am also progressing on the bowsprit. Pictures below
