Amerigo Vespucci - 1:84 Panart

Hello all
I have now completed 9 of the 11 small boats on the Amerigo Vespucci.
Quite a long effort, believe me !!!

2 10m motor boats (see below)

2 8.5m motor boats

And all 9 together below

I have 2 more to do: the commander motor boat and the diesel motor boat. Work in progress on those, hoping to completed those by 20th November.

I initially wanted to continue on the ship decorations while doing the small boats (davits, stairs on the side of the ship, ...). I finally decided not to do this as I believe I would break many parts while installing the masts and the rigging.

The whole fleet (11 boats total) is now done

I won't be installing those boats for the time being in order to avoid any breakage when working on the masts and rigging. I'll save these for leter.

I am starting with the foremast and have to say that the instructions provided by Mantua/Sergal are very limited and poor.
Anyway I'll have to do with it and investigate and make some investigations.

Hello all
Progressing on the foremast...
I indicated in my last post that the instructions provided by Mantua/Panart are very poor. It is a series of pictures without any flow between them and pretty much useless. Really too bad.
Below where I stand on the foremast

Good morning Gilbert. WOW this is fantastic. An impressive built model to date. You have convinced me to have this on my to do list one day. Cheers Grant

Hello
I have now completed the 3 sections of the foremast and the top/topmast.
I am not using the threads provided by Mantua and have replaced them with threads from Ropes of Scale which are definitely nicer.

Back home at the beginning of February.

Enjoy the holidays.

Good morning Gilbert. Very impressive. Enjoy time with your family in the US. Have an awesome festive season. Cheers Grant

Hi Gilbert,
That looks a great kit.
When you consider the length of time and enjoyment that this project will give you it will be well worth the price.
Good luck with the build altho looking at your last build you will not need it.
I will be following this build.
Great choice of build and the price is VERY reasonable. It took me 5 years . Over 100 sub units to build + 11 small deck boats. Much fun and satisfaction, and always admired by visitors.
