In this final part I form, paint and place the pillars on the upper gun deck then prepare and paint the supporting beams for the quarter deck before making and fitting the led lanterns to them and fitting them in place on the ship. Routing the wires is different this time, previously the frame timbers were drilled through to the outside then notched out to allow the wire to travel the length of the hull keeping within the space created by the inner and outer planking. This time a notch is made at the end of each beam for the same purpose, I assume that this is because the frame timbers, especially towards the bow are getting thinner now. You still need to drill through the frames to route the cables but with these thinner frames I’ve drilled 2 smaller holes for each individual wire instead of one larger hole as I’ve done before. You may notice that I haven’t painted the central section of 3 of the beams, that’s because in the next video instructions they are cut out to form the waist/skid beam area.

Hi Allen, Great craftsmanship!!! I'm also starting this ship, so I been following along for awhile now. What kind of glue did you use for the light covers? I tried CA it discolors it some.

I use CA too and don’t have any issues, perhaps it’s the type or make that your using
I use this (picture below) it’s not cheap but comes in 3 types , thin medium and thick for different applications, I mostly use the thick as it stays where you put it
