With all of your progress I never have seen the amount of sawdust and cuttings that I would produce and wonder where yours goes??? Also thinking that you were assembling oars there is no dust and the assembled stock and "flats" have me total confused as to what I am seeing with my own predetermined assumption of what an oar looks like. Please give me some explanation of what these are, where they go, and how used??????? Precise work as always whatever they are. Rich (PT-2)Well I took some time off to take care of things around the house before the holidays. Today I started on the oars. I turned the ends and sanded the flats. Then I stained using some new water based stain. I painted the metal pieces that have to be glued on. Then I glued everything together.
Tomorrow I can put the eyes in the deck and rope them down in the stern.
Then I can start the anchors. After that it’s just the ships boat and I’m ready for masts, yards and rigging.
