Cross-section of a 17th-century Pinas by Peter

Hi Peter. I was supposed to go in, however some work obligations change that. In mean time I have been working with the physio and have a permeant brace. Managing ok and going to give this alternate approach a go to see if I can avoid the knife. Still hobbling around however have had some encouraging improvements. Thanks for asking. Cheers Grant
Hi Grant , good to hear that you have encouraging improvements, recovering without surgery sounds better to me, i hope that you will recover soon my friend

it has been almost 3 weeks since the last update, so it is about time to show something.

I stained the crossection first, and this was the result

I think that the sight of the treenails is quite good, and i like it.
After this, it was time to place the Maststep, the Beams and the Knees, i also placed the Carlings.
Except for the knees and the Maststep, everything is dry-fit, because i also want to place some iron bolts in the knees, the maststep, and the Keelson.
I don't know how i will do this, but i'll try something out on some spare wood, in the next updat i hope to show you some of it.

I'll see you all next time.
Hi Peter

I am absolutely loving your build which you are superbly executing, this is another kit I have been looking at for a while which would sit alongside my Mamoli "Friesland" Kit whenever I get round to building her.

Hi Rob,
this is a great kit to build Rob, i you can find the time to build it, i can recommend it, you can make a beautifull crossection of this kit.

I think the "Friesland" and the crossection of the Pinas would be a great combination in your display case

It has been a long time, but i am having a small update for you.
Because my admiral is back on her feet again, she is running a bit thru the house, and doing some household jobs again, so i can do some modelbuilding from time to time.

First of all the ladder to the hold of the ship, last time i forgot to take that picture, but here it is.

I saw some great hinges in some logs here on SOS, and on the Dutch forum, so i had to try that as well, the door of the galley got some hinges, they are a bit to large, but i can't get them any smaller than this.
The door is not ready yet, i will take it of again, to do some more work on it, as you can see on the pictures that is necessary but this is what i could make of the it for now

Our beautiful country is a mosaic of religions that strive to live in coexistence and mutual respect. In this spirit, during this period there is a festival called "Holidays" in honor of the three religions and their holidays (Hanukah, Christmas and the Ramadan which is coming soon).
As part of the festival in the city of Haifa, there are shows/concerts, food stalls and visits to open houses with families that reflect the uniqueness of their holiday.
I started these things to inspire us all. Personally, my family and I celebrate the Hanukkah holiday at home.
we also used to visit the "Holidays Festival" in the city of Haifa also to introduce to the children the customs of other religions as part of education for tolerance and respect for their holidays and beliefs.
have a happy and peaceful holidays to all of us
