This is the Amati kit of the 7P not Kolderstok. That is incredible work! It seems that Kolderstock models are extremely well-planned and designed. You are doing your model justice!
Bill
Hi Bill. Thank you for your kind words, but this is not a Kolderstok kit. Nothing against the Kolderstok models, they are excellent, but I build the 7P mainly on basis of the drawings of Otte Blom and a stack of pear wood. That is incredible work! It seems that Kolderstock models are extremely well-planned and designed. You are doing your model justice!

Thank you @HHIG for your very kind words and visiting my build log.Fantastic, just Fantastic!!

That's exactly where the real difference lies: in the craftsmanship. FrankWhen something is said to be hand crafted, this is is what I think of. Nice work!
That is looking very nice, Herman. And for sure you have carving skills!.Found my way back to the shipyard again. I am now working on the aft bulkhead of the gundeck.

The three planked sections will be painted phtalo green. A dark green/blue color I have chosen that should contrast great with the color of pear, at least I hope so, I am colorblind.... especially for the colors green and blue. It will be also be applied to the clinker planking and base color for the stern.
To both sides of the doors a statue of a female will be placed.
The first figurine is as good as ready. There is room for improvement, but I am happy with the result. Three more to go.

All parts are provisionally set up to give an impression of what it will look like. Nothing glued down yet. The boards will be painted first and mounted once they are dry.

Thank you for the compliment Paul. It is far from the neat, (near) perfect method you show us. My style probably fits the model of a Dutch ship better than a British or French one.Hi Herman, you have a distinctive style that I am really drawn to. Quite different than how I build my models - but fantastic nonetheless!

You did a great job with the carving of those 4 statues, Herman. At the moment we have warm sunny weather, so ideal for a bit of carving, relaxing in the shade.
I already wrote there is room for improvement, and with the newly acquired experience on the first I have made the following three statues and improved the first also a bit. After having made pictures yesterday evening and saw the enlarged results, I just had to rework all four of them to achieve more similarity.
