Another carver with improving skills in no time! That looks very nice, Herman.As a prelude to more difficult carving I replaced the ornament, which is used as inlay in the bow, because I found the earlier version too massive. And now was the right moment to correct that, before all the bow parts are joined together.
First of all a piece of wood was made to fit the housing; then the shape to be cut out was marked, holes drilled and the carving was made. I used both gouges, files, drills and my new nail drill.
