French war-ship Saint-Philippe 1693 - scale 1/72 - from Lemineur monograph [COMPLETED BUILD]

Another new english word (being honest, I'm not sure what the french word is for those kind either). I'd say your wooden work is detailed just fine compare to heller soleil royal (or their other sailing ships like the royal louis)
 
When I was eighteen old (a long, kong time ago...) I've built an Heller plastic model of Royal Louis (en français = bof...)

The Soleil Royal had a best reputation, but it's a great deal for transform it through painting into an acceptable model ;)
 
The problem is that such a transformation is more difficult than an entire creation "ex nihilo", because this process is at the same time a demolition and a construction which are two distinct and discreet approaches - too complicated for an old modeller like me ! Sick
 
For me, it's easier to do that than reconstruct the whole thing, I'm more able to work on plastic/styrene/magic sculpt than wood
