This will be a review of some of the plans 1719-1776 with a focus on their being used for scratch POF.

This survey is intended to explore and celebrate the naval architecture aspect. Any historical significance is incidental.

The quality and suitability of the designs is also incidental.

The midship section looks like it would be a good "Cross Section" scrath build just on its own! Now to get all the decks and interior details to go with frames. :)

Now to get all the decks and interior details to go with frames
A deep dive into a large enough personal library will find the details. All ships need the same stores. A first rate just needs more of everything. The structural components are all there in the Establishment. It provides what and how large. Allan's book is a lot more user friendly when is comes to accessing the information. The Physics do not change. The strength of a certain size of wood of a given species is the same now as it was in the 1500's. I have no problem with "close enough is good enough" if going out a view decades is necessary to get a specific part dimension.
