It is a pleasure Hans. There has been quite some interest here in the Fluit, so I just thought I would update things a bit. I can well imagine, that you must be a busy man at the moment - almost like an expecting father!Thank you for forwarding this!
At the moment it is quite hectic here to get all the items packed together, and making a new log for this ship is one thing to do, but it is postponed constantly...
:-(
After I looked at the build log some time ago I said “Definitely above my skill set”Hello Ron. Building the Fluit will definitely be a challenge. However, at this stage a "next build" is very far into the future - I am sitting here with piles of books stacked up in front of me preparing classes.
Ron, I think that when one looks at the ship, the planking appears very daunting. But remember that two models have already been built, and knowing Hans the way I do, he has checks and balances built into the build all along the way to create a doable build. Like with so many things in life, once you start something and immerse yourself in the process, answers start jumping out at you. So, don't sell yourself short - you won't know what you are capable of unless you try. After I looked at the build log some time ago I said “Definitely above my skill set”

Glad to hear the first day went well.Thank you very much Ron. I have actually finished my first day of teaching and it went very well. The students are impeccably behaved and a pleasure to work with - and those three boys - they are strong indeed!
Thank you very much Jan. I was very pleased with the teaching - the day is just long - also for the kids. (from 08H20 in the morning to 17H20in the afternoon).Glad to hear the first day went well.

Wow, the HS hours here are 8:30 to 14:00, MTTF, Wednesdays classes are abbreviated between 8:30 and 12:00. Me thinks that you're schedule would cause tremendous upheaval if implemented here.Thank you very much Jan. I was very pleased with the teaching - the day is just long - also for the kids. You’re right Jan. If that were implemented in the US they might even learn something.Wow, the HS hours here are 8:30 to 14:00, MTTF, Wednesdays classes are abbreviated between 8:30 and 12:00. Me thinks that you're schedule would cause tremendous upheaval if implemented here.

My lunch today - fish with vermicelli, spinach, chicken and noodle, rice and a bowl of soup - available at 6 RMB - less than one USD! I could finish about half of that and I had more than enough!
I am sure it will cause an upheaval in the majority of western countries.Wow, the HS hours here are 8:30 to 14:00, MTTF, Wednesdays classes are abbreviated between 8:30 and 12:00. Me thinks that you're schedule would cause tremendous upheaval if implemented here.

Hi Ed. I try to cater for all tastes (pun intended) .When I started S. O. S. today I didn't expect my mouth to start watering!
They work very hard Ron. And after going home, most of them will be doing homework until 11-12 (depending on their levels). These students work hard and on weekends - it's extra classes. You’re right Jan. If that were implemented in the US they might even learn something.
The lunch is great Peter. It's good, nutritious food and the quantity is simply too much. My friend, if my written Dutch can be half as good as your English, I will be a happy man - so no worries. That is looking like an excellent lunch my friend.
I am glad to here that your classes are going well, overhere in the Netherlands, there would also be a civilwar if those teaching hours where to be implemented.
Oh and by the way, if my spellingserrors are to large, please correct me, i might learn something aswell
Well-spotted Peter! Because it is an international school, they provide forks as well. So your choice is between chopsticks, forks and spoons. I am very proficient with the chopsticks, but there are just certain food types with which it makes no sense .That looks delicious Heinrich. Do I see a fork and no chip-sticks?
