HMAV Bounty 1:48 (based on) Artesania Latina Kit

Part 5 The stern,

One of my least favorite parts is assembling the stern. Artesania has included simple flat brass\ ornaments and brass windows .

Although wood carving is not one of my best skills, I tried to make the window frames and ornaments myself from pear wood. It proved particularly difficult to make the windows symmetrical.

In the end, I am reasonably satisfied with the result. As far as I am concerned, it is at least an improvement on the brass parts from the kit.

That's why I decided to build my version of the Bounty with only one boat on deck
I think that was a very good idea. The jolly boat was rotted through and the cutter leaked to the point it was useless. Keep in mind that the launch had been modified from her original single mast design to carry two masts some time before the mutiny occurred and she was likely single banked.

Part 6 Completion of the hull.

By August 2023, construction had progressed to the point where the hull was complete.
I will show you some photos of what the Bounty looked like at that time. At a later stage, I made some improvements and additions, such as the mountings for the swivel guns and the flag locker.
Most of the parts in the photos have already been mentioned in previous posts, but I think it's good to give a complete picture of the ship at that point in time.

Be more than satisfied. This is a respect-worthy improvement! Bravo!
Thank you again Paul!

Maybe I should maybe print the base and do what you did. Wonderful modelling.
It would be great if you find the method I used useful. In any case, thank you again for the compliment Grant!

Thank you all for this very interesting information Allen.
It's good to hear that my practical choices seem to fit within the historical context.

@KAYA61, @RichardG, @CLB:

Thank you all for your positive responses. I appreciate it.

Very beautiful ship and colors/tints. I will use your posts for reference for my own Bounty (AL).

Thank you too! It would be great if my construction could contribute to your project. Can we follow the construction of your Bounty on this forum too?
Feel free to ask questions anytime. For a more detailed log, you could also take a look here (Dutch forum):

This is some of the nicest "fine" work I have seen on rigging. VERY nicely done. I apologize if you already mentioned this and I missed it, but did you make/buy your own rope and blocks? They look to be very high quality. I am betting these materials did not come out of an AL kit box.

Thanks Allen,
It's true that the rope and blocks aren't from the AL kit. I also didn't make them myself. The rope is from Germany: https://www.modellbau-takelgarn.com
The blocks are from www.kolderstok.com
