I think that was a very good idea. The jolly boat was rotted through and the cutter leaked to the point it was useless. Keep in mind that the launch had been modified from her original single mast design to carry two masts some time before the mutiny occurred and she was likely single banked. That's why I decided to build my version of the Bounty with only one boat on deck

Way to go Eric. I tried to 3D print some of these but failed miserably. Maybe I should maybe print the base and do what you did. Wonderful modelling. Cheers GrantI will also show you how I made the side galleries. In this case, I did use the ironwork from the kit. I did add wooden window frames to it, though.

Thank you again Paul!Be more than satisfied. This is a respect-worthy improvement! Bravo!
It would be great if you find the method I used useful. In any case, thank you again for the compliment Grant!Maybe I should maybe print the base and do what you did. Wonderful modelling.
Thank you all for this very interesting information Allen.I think that was a very good idea. The jolly boat was rotted through and the cutter leaked to the point it was useless. Keep in mind that the launch had been modified from her original single mast design to carry two masts some time before the mutiny occurred and she was likely single banked.
Very beautiful ship and colors/tints. I will use your posts for reference for my own Bounty (AL).
Thanks Allen,This is some of the nicest "fine" work I have seen on rigging. VERY nicely done. I apologize if you already mentioned this and I missed it, but did you make/buy your own rope and blocks? They look to be very high quality. I am betting these materials did not come out of an AL kit box.
Allan
Good morning Eric. Bravo! One of the best Bounty’s I have seen built. Cheers GrantPart 8: the bowsprit
In September 2023, I made and installed the bowsprit.
