HMS ALERT 1777 cutter POF by shota70 [COMPLETED BUILD]

My Dear Shota. I cannot believe how much I had to catch up on. You have made excellent progress during my absence. I have to agree with everyone who has said that your work is just getting better and better. Your windlass and pumps are beautiful while the overall finishing effect on your model is remarkable. I love the red and black in contrast to the natural wood colors. Well done, my friend!

thank you very much my dear friend for your kind words and compliments :)

good evening dear friends
Today I started working on the Square tuck/back of the stern.
First I created a decorative edge and later I installed the wooden panels at the required angle. Unlike the ship's book (Anatomy of the Ship) where 7 wooden panels are shown, I have 13.
I then marked the nails and applied Tung oil.
Good night everyone :)

good evening dear friends
During the last few days I have been working on the External hull of the stern, and in the last two days I completed the preparation of the Stern transom and also on the Counter.
In the coming days I will complete the installation of the hinges on which the ship's rudder will be installed . I will also work on the inside of the ship of the stern transom (which creates a sort of window/hatch).
meantime enjoy the pictures :)

Good morning Shota. The stern is the part of the 2 ships I have built to be the most difficult. You are owning this . Lovely work. Cheers Grant

good evening dear friends
In the last few days I hardly had the chance to work on the ship due to personal reasons (good - family events). So happily I was able to return to the ship today, first I independently produced the Transom knee (lack of my kit).

20230804_173053.jpgthe next step was the chain wale (Plate number 14 in the kit) , the parts are cnc milled cherry.

I created the graded profile manually using a scalpel and Rounded sanding chisels , it turned out quite well in my opinion, I tried to maintain accuracy despite the manual work.
wish to all of us Peaceful weekend

You're showing craftmanship with your handiwork on the wales; I initially thought you used your CNC-tool...

good evening dear friends
Today I continued working on three different parts:
the metal parts of the chain wale (chemical browning).
the shot rack (I sanded them, slightly widened the round openings with a drill/ball sander and also browned cannonballs)
as well as on the cat head - preparation and painting, tomorrow I will make the discs.
I wish everyone a successful new week
