HMS ALERT 1777 cutter POF by shota70 [COMPLETED BUILD]

I have caught up with your build log again, must have missed a notification. You have made very good progress in the meantime and added so many nice details Thumbsup.
Hello Shota, you did a fine job on those blocks. Your patience and attention to detail will pay off doing those guns.
Dear Herman and Roger, thank you very much for your support and compliments
thanks for the all good friends that following after my work and sending kind words, links and smileys

Hello dear friends
In the Last week I started working on the creation of the cannon carts. Most of the work I have done so far has focused on removing the various parts from the of the three panels that make up the cart (10 wooden parts), and a lot of delicate manual sanding work.
It was monotonous and Sisyphus work, but important because it will give the carts the right finish and beauty.
I will try to be as detailed as possible in the stages of the work so that the next modelers will help with convenient explanations and detailed pictures as much as possible.
After preparing the wood parts in the coming week I will focus on the various metal parts and blackening them.

meantime, I am attaching photos of the work,
wishing us all a pleasant and enjoyable weekend :)

Good morning Shota. I am so envious of you right now. I wish I had some CNC canons :D- these look so good. You are ready for action to make these. Cheers Grant

good evening dear friends
In the Last week I made a little progress with the cannon carts, I glued the sides of the carts, made holes for the pin that secures the wheels to the round axle rods at the ends.
in the last day I racked my brain in finding a preparation method for the round disk that closes at the ends on the metal axis that supports the Stool Bed.
At the end of an experimental process of several methods, I decided to prefer a method of cutting a disk with a cup drill with a diameter of one and a half millimeters on a copper plate with a thickness of 0.3 mm, later I will make a 0.7 mm hole in it for the rod.

That's all for now, friends, I wish us all an end Have a pleasant and enjoyable week

Dear Ken
Thank you very much for the kind words and compliments
Hi Shota, The effort and thought that you are putting into the fine details on your build amazes me, the results speak for themselves, truly inspiring. Ken

good evening dear friends
About two weeks ago I started the journey to create the cannon carts , today I got a Milestone. the truth is that I did not understand how many parts one cart is made of and the investment that required to make them at the required level. It was an instructive and enriching lesson.
I usually manage to spare 2-3 hours to work once every two or three days, so the progress is "heel next to thumb", so today I had half a day off which was used for the strollers.

At the end of the day, I am happy to update that I was able to connect all the parts into a complete cart and everything sits in a synchronized manner.
I'm using the drawings of the cart in the ship's book, Jimsky and Maarten's blog, which were extremely helpful.
I admit that if I had the strength I would go into more detail about the process and the names of the different parts I made, but the Fatigue defeated me, so I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

I still have a long way to go until all the carts are in the right condition, so advice and guidance are welcome!
for example
: How to polish the rusted metal parts?
Thank you and good night everyone :)

A small model as part of a bigger model. Well done, Shota
Impressive, Shota.
I like the cannon's antique looks.
my dear friend's,
thanks for your support and compliments, Smileys and likes
it's my honor to get this recognition from all of you :)

good evening dear friends
After several days that I have not being free to work on the model today I managed to get few hours tonight to continue creating the carts.
You won't believe it, but I spent about four hours to applying three layers of red paint on all the parts that make up six carts.
I intend to leave the remaining six in their natural wood color.
If you see in the pictures small areas without color, it's in the areas where the gluing will be done. I was afraid that a layer of color, would weaken it . in any case after the gluing they would be un visible at all. That's all, but it gives me great satisfaction!
Good night to all of us

Hi Shota. I know how revealing and often unflattering close up photos can be, but your pics show only how well they are made, perfect down to the smallest detail. I salute you. Ken
