HMS Blandford POF by Keith [COMPLETED BUILD]

Ribs trimmed to their correct heights and spacers placed between to bring them into line. That's the frames just about complete apart from marking and cutting out the gun ports. The instructions show this to be the last step in the construction of the hull frames, so my next step will be to take the whole assembly out of the cradle to add the transom timbers. Then it will be ready for its final sanding and 2 coats of the wood finish that l mentioned earlier.

A harmonious and beautiful structure Okay :) Thumbsup

SHE'S OUT. . . A step l was looking forward to and dreading at the same time but it was not as hard as l thought it might be. With a little jiggling it came out fairly easy. The building slip l've used for 3 other builds is perfect to support the hull while it is out of the cradle for making up the transom pieces. That is the next job. Then sanding and applying the finish

Very neat work Keef, always a rewarding moment to look for the first time at your hull free from its mould.
One remark it seems the hull is bending in at this point I would temporary fit an inside support to straigthen it until the deck beams are fitted.

I like your temporary support frame, can you provide information or plans on how you built it, we may all be able to use one like it as well.

Great looking set of ribs for the ship.
I actually bought this ''building slip'' about 7 years ago. l believe it is from Billings Boats. lt is adjustable to fit any size hull. lt would be extremely easy to make one though. l could take some photos and give dimensions for the parts if you wish

Yes, please, but I might suggest you post a new log in the tools area with title and have info there for all to see.

Thanks.
