HMS Blandford POF by Keith [COMPLETED BUILD]

I am really enjoying your build and have started my build. I am having a problem with the false keel, I can't find it. There is no part number or anything of that nature. Can I get some help here?

Hi my friend. Thank you for your comments and l'm glad to hear you are starting your own build of this great kit and really hope you enjoy the experience. To answer your question about the false keel, there are several strips included in the keel section of the kit, about 10 or so if l remember correctly. l have included a photo of these to help you identify them. You only actually need 4 or 5 so there are spare pieces. You are meant to sand the joint areas to look like scarf joints. Hope this helps

Great looking model Keef. I’ve viewed all of the Blandford build logs here on SOS and I have one comment I’d like to share. The plans in my kit show a gammoning knee but the part is not included in the kit. There’s enough boxwood on the billet to make the part but I’m wondering why it got left out. Did anybody notice that it’s missing even though it’s shown on the plans and in the kit instruction drawings. Also, my keel parts are not all the same thickness which is a problem I’m going to have to solve on my own.
