Very useful proposal, but too late for meExcellent work. I like it. neat and precise everything. One piece of advice, how to finish the process when you don't need to take the model in your hands - use a copper cleaner to remove fingerprints and stains. (first try it on a sample). This way the surface will be uniform and will darken evenly.

I hope you find the below paragraphs from the original contract of a fifth rate frigate in the late 18th century, the time of Diana to be interesting. I just learned a few days ago while reading several contracts that the false keel was coppered separately from the keel so it could still tear away if grounding on the bottom without tearing the keel itself which was the original purpose of having it.
