I wasn't happy with the steps, which have ended up offset :-), but decided to make up for it by making my own molded ones rather than the simple polygons provided. I'm still mulling over how to better connect the volute to the drift rail.

Started on a pump and will complete next time I mix up some epoxy..........

The kit is very well conceived, and the templates and jigs are excellent. I'll likely purchase the Stern as well, and am hoping a bow section is also in the works.

Yes, there are areas which only line up correctly after later additons, so you really need a complete understanding of all the instructions before starting. I have had to deal with various misalignments.
