HMS ENTERPRISE 1774 by RichardJJS 1:48 scale. New Kit from M.D

Thanks Jeff,
Unfortunately, per the contract and drawings what they expect is wrong. There were four hawse pieces plus the bollard and filler piece on each side, not five hawse pieces, This will create problems getting the hawse holes in the right place between the appropriate hawse pieces with the correct distance center to center.
Allan
The model has 7 Hawse Pieces
The Exterior is as per DRawing and fit very nicely but the Inner is difficult

I should be able to get the correct spacing between the hawse holes since I'm putting a 3/4" tall piece between each of the hawse pieces right along where the holes will need to be drilled.
I think they are using 2 pieces for the filler piece so they don't need to provide another thickness of timber in their kit. But, that is just a guess on my part.

I did notice that nowhere in the instructions to they mention the hawse holes. :)
But that's not too hard to fix.
Interesting
I actually glued N0 1 Hawse piece onto te Bow Piece
Let it set then glued Y8a into place on the model
THen spaced out the hawse pieces and fitted THen Filllers
Fitting the Inner Planking to secure it all
Have you got pictres of the Holes Please ~

I've not put in the holes yet (as I've not got the hawse timbers fully assembled). The positioning is not too hard to get since they are shown on the side view. Plus the note from Allan provided information that there is almost 12 inches between the holes. However, I don't have information to show how far out from the stem is the first hole.

I've got one of the hawse timber assemblies built (along next to my aft cant frame pieces. :)

yes i see the inner on yours is no better than mine

Feel a bit better now

Its just not tidy but will look later

I found that i needed a bit of play in the gap between Y8a and the bow
Looking at filling later

But my Inner Planking is terrible (THATS ME!!)

THANKS

I messed with low res drawings of Enterprise and came up with the inboard most hole inboard edge as 40 inches from the stem, but this could very well be off a bit working with low res plans.
