The frames and other structural elements was Swiss pear and the deck planking was cedar wood.

Yes, at this time I did the notches in the beam arms afterwards after they were glued, means insitu.
Here I wanted to be on the safe side about the exact locations etc. .... off course sometimes not easy and with much more care to cut with a small chisel.
The notches of the carlings for installation of the ledges were usually done before glueing in place.....so if you see one on a photo before (without notch) and after (with notch), than it was usually drifting before.
The notches on the beams I did before final installation. Here I put all beams next to each other and marked the areas to be cutted for all beams in the same time. With this the carlings are parallel to the keel, rectangle.

The gratings were done with the circular saw, with cutting nodges with the same distance

Today I want to show you some impressions of the finished deck with the grating and the installed ladder.
The location of the beams are marked with a soft pencil, to show the location and direction of the planking nails.....
Good to see here is also the grain of the used ceddar-wood which comes (in my opinion) nicely and somehow correct in scale

I think this was a Lebanon ceder. I got the piece from a good modeling friend in Croatia.
I have a very good „home made“ circular saw, so the planks were cut with the saw.
It is time for the installation of the gangways.
First of all the brackets have to be produced out of brass
We need four gangway brackets without Crutch
and we need in addition four brackets with crutch
After the drilling of the holes for the installation bolts they are ready for blackening
