Just catching up on your HMY Fubbs, you sure are doing a fantastic job on her and along with all of that great detail that I love to see so much. I can not believe the speed that you are building her as it looks like she is almost to the Rigging stage and here I am still cutting and gluing up framing segments for my Oliver Cromwell, Great work and a big Well Done, ENJOY.

Hi Lawrence,
Thank you very much for your kind words. My version of the HMY Fubbs is a lot simpler than Bob Hunt’s built, his has a lot of fine painting and carvings that I could not do well so I did the fast and easy.
You are doing an excellent job on your Oliver Cromwell, the frames always seem to take forever, as you get a little more experience they go a lot faster. I am glad you are enjoying my build log.

What a great build on your FUBBS ,I have the book by Portia Takakjian. I am a beginner in POF but sometime I want to build FUBBS,

I would prefer to obtain plans for this ship do you know of a supplier. Following your build I wondered what type of wood you are using.

Hi Zoltan, the design for the quarter galleries came from Romero’s practicum, I modified it a little.

The wood for the keel and framing is European Beach wood, the false keel is rose wood. I am also using basswood, blood wood, walnut, boxwood and ebony as shown in the details.I try to take a lot of photos.

Nice progress and verry accurate. What kind of gold paint are you using. Had to paint some wood in gold but looked so cheap and crappy.

Hi Pat, the paint is Splendid Gold by Decoart it works well on wood with good coverage, I got it from Hobby Lobby.

Hi Dave, I printed out the parts I was interested in but didn’t download the whole practicum. They have been looking for it on Model Ship Builder, but I don’t think they have found it yet. The Wayback Machine would help but Arthur misplaced the starter fluid.
