Kingfisher 1770 1:48 POF

Wow Paul - those sweep ports look wonderful and follow a beautiful line on the hull. If you take into account how old this kit is, then you realize once more just how far ahead of the game, Bob was at the time with his designs and vision.

Thank you, Heinrich. This port side has a better alignment to the gun ports (and sweep ports) than the starboard. The starboard will be planked so I'm hoping to be able to do some remedial work and create something visually acceptable. The port side isn't perfect either (too many POF rookie procedural and execution foibles), but I think it will work. I need to suppress some of my natural inclinations, or I'll never get anywhere... It is just for fun after all!

Okay Paul - Do you even have a job?! Lol, absolutely superb my friend. Yes, and now out of the frame, you are free to create!
HA! I skipped two evening meetings this week and worked on the ship. I was getting burned out between my full-time paying job and my part-time hobby job - all work and no play makes Paul grouchy!

Very nice Paul. She's a real eye pleaser.
Thank you, Daniel. I agree! These swan class ships are really nice-looking vessels and present themselves very handsomely in POF.

However, now that she is free from the walls of the jig, I think she shrank ROTF...

Dear Paul
You have reached a major milestone in the creation of this special model from the creator of Bob Hunt. You have done a beautiful and spectacular structure for the ship. Waiting to see the next progress
Thank you, Shota. I'm excited to see the next steps as well...once I have installed some additional chocks between the frames I'll be able to fair the exterior - then we'll really see the lines!

Roughed in sweep ports (16x of the little ones) and their upper and lower sills:

The sides of the framing jig are removable! Now I can place the chocks/spacers that run along the vertical height of alternating frame pairs. Very clever design by Mr. Hunt (@lauckstreet)!
Good morning Paul. Beautiful. It must have been a rewarding experience to remove the framing jig. Making frame after frame - it must have felt like it will never end…..and then boomExplosion. Awesome! Cheers Grant

Hi Paul, Wow, and wow. I guess you can’t build a normal kit after this one! Even if you haven’t faired the outside, this is a really great result. You must be really proud on yourself after removing parts of the jig and see the result that came out of your hands. Admiration from this side of the world my friend! Thumbsup

I can only agree what this guy with the same name, from the same country of that same other side of the world has written …….
So I quoted him and join me.
Regards, (one of the other) Peter

such photos showing the result of your work are the best advertisement for such a kit

Hi Paul, You said something cool happened, I think you must have meant Sub Zero, because that’s what it is.

“And then something really cool happened” indeed ! What a stunning piece of work.
Question, full time job vs part time job. When you are peering into the mouth of a patient what do you see, frames perhaps.

Very nice indeed Paul!
Thanks Mark!

Indeed! These POF models are pretty showy!

Very nice comments all the way from the other side of the world. Much appreciated Peter(s).

The boxwood is pretty special! I'm looking forward to doing something other than frames though...

Thank you, Ron! I was delighted to actually see her for the first time!

Thank you for all the comments and likes everyone!
