Ho terminato l'installazione dei bagli a prua, completando certi elementi mancanti.
Rimane solo da installare i BARROCCI.
Mi scuso per il termine nautico in italiano ma non ho trovato l'equivalente in lingua inglese. Si tratta di barre in legno che collegano un baglio all'altro.

Settimana prossima mi trasferirò per circa un mese nella mia vecchia abitazione presso Milano e sono così costretto ad interrompere le attività di modellismo. Visto poi l'arrivo del periodo natalizio, credo che ricomincerò a lavorare da inizio nuovo anno. Quindi, anche se molto in anticipo, auguro a tutti voi buone feste.

I finished installing the bow beams, completing some missing elements.
All that remains is now to install the BARROCCI.
I apologize for the nautical term in Italian language but I have not found the equivalent in English. BARROCCI are wooden bars that connect one beam to another.

Next week I will move to my old home near Milan for about a month and I am forced to stop my ship modeling activities. Given the arrival of the Christmas period, I think I will start working again from the beginning of the new year. So, although very early, I wish you all merry Christmas and happy holidays.

In recent days I started installing the beams in the bow area. However, before applying the beams, I had to install a small platform positioned at the bottom of the hold.

And here I ran into an error in the assembly instructions that made me install this platform in correspondence with the wrong frame: in short, I applied the platform starting from frame VI while the correct one was VII. The problem is that by the time I realized it, it was too late.

And this error emerged a few building instructions issues later, when I had to apply a bulkhead at the bow (similar to the other two I already applied at the stern): this had to fall exactly next to the platform but due to the error this was not possible and the bulkhead fell on it.

Consequently I took the liberty of modifying the model as you can see in the image below (and also in the last one). Purists will probably be shocked but unfortunately that's how it happened. This fact teaches me that it is always better to read well beyond the dossier you are working on.

In questi giorni ho iniziato ad installare i bagli nella zona di prua. Però, prima di applicare i bagli, ho dovuto installare una piccola piattaforma posizionata in fondo alla stiva.

E qui sono incappato in un errore presente nelle istruzioni di montaggio che mi hanno fatto installare questa piattaforma in corrispondenza di un ordinata sbagliata: in breve ho applicato la piattaforma a partire dall'ordinata VI mentre quella corretta era la VII. Il problema è che quando me ne sono accorto era ormai troppo tardi.

E questo errore è emerso alcuni fascicoli dopo, quando ho dovuto applicare una paratia a prua (simile alle altre due già applicate a poppa): questa doveva cadere esattamente a lato della piattaforma ma a causa dell'errore ciò non è stato possibile e la paratia vi cadeva sopra.

Di conseguenza mi sono preso la libertà di modificare il modello come potete osservare nell'immagine qui sotto (e anche nell'ultima). I puristi rimarranno probabilmente sconvolti ma purtroppo è andata così. Il fatto mi insegna che conviene sempre andare a leggere ben oltre il fascicolo su cui si sta lavorando.

Bonjour, pouvez-vous me préciser de quel type de bois est constitué votre 'La Belle' (poirier, Cerisier...), car 'la Belle' de CAFmodel est en cerisier est ce bois me parait trés légèrement rouge, ce qui m'imposera de faire des essais de teintes sur des chutes pour voir comment cela ressort.

Non penso che Hachette abbia realizzato un kit scadente perché i dettagli che hai mostrato in questo post (e in passato in un altro) non sono presenti.
Per me non è un buon kit per tanti altri motivi ma non per questo.

C'è una grande differenza tra un modello 3D e un modello realizzato principalmente in legno: non è possibile ottenere la stessa precisione nei dettagli, a meno che non si costruisca su scala molto grande.

Non riesco a immaginare i piccoli dettagli quadrati come quelli sulla parte superiore delle frame realizzate con legno in scala 1/48 o più ampia.

Ho nella mia biblioteca alcune monografie dell'ANCRE ma non ho mai visto un dettaglio come i tuoi incastri a coda di rondine di cui parli . . e ho visitato diverse esposizioni di modelli in stile ammiragliato e, ancora una volta, non ho mai visto questi dettagli.
Puoi citare la/le fonte/i in cui vengono descritti questi elementi?

I don't think that Hachette manufactured a bad kit because the details you showed in this post (and in the past on another one) are not present.
For me it is not a good kit for many other reasons but not this.

There is a big difference between a 3D model and a model made mainly of wood: you cannot achieve the same precision in details, unless you build at very big scales.

I cannot imagine the small square details as the ones on the top of the frames made with wood at 1/48 or wider scales.

I have in my library some ANCRE monographs but I have never seen a detail as your dovetail joints you mention . . and I have visited several admiralty style model expositions and, again, I never saw these details.
Can you mention the source(s) where these elements are decribed ?
 
Mi scuso per il mio messaggio precedente: ho visitato il diario di costruzione di un modellista navale italiano e ho scoperto il dettaglio che hai menzionato.

Esso è ben visibile in questa immagine allegata.

C'è solo un piccolo dettaglio: il modellista è uno dei campioni del mondo in questa categoria, sicuramente non paragonabile ad un modello ottenuto da un kit !!

Sorry for my previous message: I visited the build log of a italian ship modeler and I have discovered the detail you mention.

It is well visible in this attached image.

There is only a small detail: the modeller is one of the world champions in this category, certainly non comparable with a model obtained by a kit !!

Je me suis mal exprimé ou du moins au mauvais interlocuteur.
Je suis à la recherche d'une teinture pour mon projet 'La Belle' de Cafmodel, et ma question était destinée au constructeur de 'La Belle' de Hachette. En effet sa teinture me plait bien et je désirait savoir si je pouvais l'utiliser sur mon modèle, sous réserve de l'essence du boit qui peut avoir un effet différent si le bois utilisé entre 'La Belle' de Cafmodel est différent de ' La Belle' de Hachette.
En tout cas félicitation pour vos vidéos sur 'La Belle' qui me permet d'en apprendre plus sur ma construction.

Il legno utilizzato nel modello di Hachette è il pero. Questa è la risposta fondamentale.
Però, come ho scritto in un precedente messaggio, tratto il legno con un olio che viene utilizzato anche per i mobili di casa per rivitalizzarne il colore, senza però tingerlo.
Le foto che pubblico in questo log sono principalmente scattate con luce artificiale perché il mio laboratorio è in un garage senza finestre. Raramente scatto delle foto alla luce naturale. Il colore del legno cambia molto quando la foto è stata fatta con luce artificiale o naturale.
Concludendo: si tratta di legno di pero trattato con olio per legno. Il risultato dovrebbe essere simile qualora si vernici il legno con una vernice impregnante trasparente.

Le bois utilisé dans le modèle Hachette est le poirier. C’est la réponse fondamentale.
Cependant, comme je l'ai écrit dans un précédent message, je traite le bois avec une huile qui est également utilisée pour les meubles de maison afin de raviver sa couleur, sans toutefois le teindre.
Les photos que je publie dans ce carnet sont principalement prises avec une lumière artificielle car mon atelier est dans un garage sans fenêtre. Je prends rarement des photos à la lumière naturelle. La couleur du bois change beaucoup lorsque la photo a été prise avec une lumière artificielle ou naturelle.
En conclusion : il s’agit de bois de poirier traité à l’huile de bois. Le résultat devrait être similaire si le bois est peint avec un vernis imprégnant transparent.

The wood used in the Hachette model is pear. This is the fundamental answer.
However, as I wrote in a previous message, I treat the wood with an oil that is also used for home furniture to revitalize its color, without however dyeing it.
The photos I publish in this log are mainly taken with artificial light because my workshop is in a garage with no windows. I rarely take photos in natural light. The color of the wood changes a lot when the photo was taken with artificial or natural light.
Bottom line: this is pear wood treated with wood oil. The result should be similar if the wood is painted with a transparent impregnating varnish.

Un caloroso saluto a tutti i membri di questo forum . .
Da qualche giorno ho ripreso a lavorare sul modello de "La Belle" dopo la forzata pausa invernale.
Infatti solo da un paio di settimane il tempo è diventato abbastanza mite per poter lavorare nel mio laboratorio, che non ha un sistema di riscaldamento. Sto pensando a un simile sistema per il prossimo inverno in modo da non dovermi fermare per il freddo.

Avevo lasciato in autunno il modello in uno stato in cui stavo installando i bagli del ponte principale e avevo quasi terminato la zona di poppa e di prua. Per terminare questa attività manca la zona centrale.

Ed è appunto in questa zona del modello che ho lavorato in questi giorni. Il tutto è documentato dalle immagini sottostanti.

A few days ago I started working on the "La Belle" model again, after a forced winter break.
In fact, only a couple of weeks ago the weather became mild enough to work in my workshop, which does not have a heating system. I'm thinking to a similar system for next winter so I don't have to stop in the cold.

I had left the model in a state in the fall where I was installing the main deck beams and had almost finished the stern and bow areas. To finish this activity the central area is missing.

And it is precisely in this area of the model that I have been working in recent days. Everything is documented by the images below.

Il y a quelques jours, j'ai repris le travail sur le modèle "La Belle" après les vacances d'hiver forcées.
En fait, il y a seulement quelques semaines, le temps est devenu suffisamment doux pour travailler dans mon laboratoire, qui ne dispose pas de système de chauffage. Je pense à un système similaire pour l'hiver prochain pour ne pas m'arrêter dans le froid.

J'avais laissé le modèle dans un état à l'automne où j'installais les poutres du pont principal et j'avais presque terminé les zones arrière et avant. Pour terminer cette activité, il manque la zone centrale.

Et c’est justement dans ce domaine du modèle que j’ai travaillé ces derniers jours. Tout est documenté par les images ci-dessous.

Il tempo è molto peggiorato in queste ultime settimane ed è ritornato il freddo. Così non ho potuto passare molto tempo nel garage a lavorare sul modello. Comunque ho potuto lavorare alcuni giorni. A prima vista sembra cambiato poco rispetto al mio ultimo messaggio, ma invece sono presenti diversi cambiamenti.
Purtroppo credo di avere delle difficoltà a definire nei corretti termini in inglese e/o francese il lavoro fatto, così ho deciso di pubblicare un certo numero di fotografie in modo che possiate scoprire da voi stessi le novità.

The weather has gotten much worse in the last weeks and the cold has returned. So I couldn't spend much time in the garage working on the model. However I was able to work a few days. At first glance it seems that little has changed since my last message, but instead there are several changes.
Unfortunately I think I have difficulty defining the work done in the correct terms in English and/or French, so I have decided to publish a certain number of photographs so that you can discover by yourself what's new.

Un nuovo elemento: il piedistallo per il modello. Non molto usato per il momento, preferisco ancora usare lo scalo di montaggio perchè è molto più stabile. il nuovo piedistallo per ora va bene solo per fare le fotografie.

A new element: the pedestal for the model. Not used much at the moment, I still prefer to use the mounting slip because it is much more stable. The new pedestal is only good for taking photographs for now.

Un nouvel élément : le socle pour la maquette. Peu utilisé pour le moment, je préfère quand même utiliser la chaîne de montage car c'est beaucoup plus stable. Le nouveau piédestal ne sert pour l'instant qu'à prendre des photos.
