Don't I know it!I was planning on "shaving" down the right side to make her fit and repaint, touch up. Or shape the figure a little bit. Plus, looks like it needs to be shortened. Kind of going by the seat of my pants.

Vic, below a close-up picture of what I didI dry-fitted a decorative pillar with the shape of a woman next to the rear of the bell before building the bell. Do you have enough room on the right for her with your bell? I'm finding I have to take a whole bunch of things into account before construction of some of these elements. The ornaments are especially giving me fits.
That seems to fit well. I dry fitted that item and it seems to fit my bell. Pretty soon, I should be able to call it “ma belle.” Would the cornucopia window fit the other way? It’s difficult to determine left window from right. And thanks for the picture, Gilbert. It does help a lot!Vic, below a close-up picture of what I did
The ornament par above the sun aligns with the shape of the bell

Yep. I’m surprised the ship didn’t sink tail first. That's a lot of decors..., Vic.
I didn’t realize that I would have to bend ornaments and cut some to fit. View attachment 268669View attachment 268670
What kind of paint are you using. Just came from hobby shop and don't like anything of what they offer. I did pick up a antique gold.About half of the bling that will go on the aft section. View attachment 268665
Good question. I've tried about everything. I've tried acrylic--too dull and wrong color. Spray paint--meh. I covered it all with shake-a-can spray, then painted with Testor's gold with a brush. Testor's is the only one that produces really shiny effect. What kind of gold paint.?
Just tried a couple of brush on acrylic from local hobby shop, don't like any of 'em either. Except for spray can or brush, I do not have my own sprayer. So, we are very limited.Good question. Isn't the window with the cornucopia on the wrong side?Vic, below a close-up picture of what I did

Cool. Will look. Painting by hand takes a long time. You should look at Sculpt Nouveau lone of products. In particular their metal B line. The have a complete line of products that say for metal coating however, they work great on wood. Any patina you would want and metal B line of mixed powder colors are excellent. some time ago I made a Steampunk style of clock with a metallic painted base and used their rust patina spray. Looks like rusty iron work

I’m thinking maybe an acrylic gold base and Testors top coat. Obviously, I’m not there yet and I may have to try out some different things. In reference to the gold trim other than the castings, are you going to use the same technique of painting. Thank you.
