Thanks, Dean. But also like the Pocher Ducati builds, a lot of the details will be covered ……… But it’s a great kit to build.

Group 2, Steps 31 till 36.
Detailing the engine block.




After these steps, the engine block will look like this:


The fit of some parts of the engine block is a bit off. I filed a few things here and there, but couldn't get everything to fit perfectly. That's a bit of a minor point ... But hey, some of it will be hidden deep in the engine compartment.

With another one with reference:


I think I'll use the airbrush on the intake and exhaust systems, which will be done a bit later. This will give them some color. I'll also see if some parts of the engine block can benefit from this.

Nice detail in the kit, for more color and variation, you can paint the bolt heads a darker silver, and you can add a wash around the bolts and other parts to emphasize edges and make it look a little used. Thats one thing I don’t like about the prepainted kits, everything is the same color and that’s not realistic.

Group 2, steps 37 till 44.
Exhaust manifold and engine block placement:

The engine block is assembled step by step. Several steps are detailed in the drawings in the manual, as quite a few tubes and hoses each have their own specific route along and within the engine block.
I won't show all the steps, but I will show these. In the last drawing of step 44, I've placed an arrow at two metal band clamps.
It took quite a bit of effort to attach these:

A hose is attached to a frame crossmember with two of these clamps. To properly secure the clamp, the end had to be routed through one opening, then back through the other opening. And then fold and take back, with a metal strip ... But I managed it again.

The drawings were sometimes a bit too detailed to find the correct route along the engine block. The routing was almost completely gone. I gratefully used two photos of the engine that I had already found while searching online:


The engine is quite impressive:

On Dean's advice, @Dean62, I tinted most of the bolt heads. I sprayed the intake airbox and the intake pipes. Not that they've discolored due to the heat, but it looks a little different. I gave the outer radiator lines a very light wash so the black is just a bit gone.

The exhaust manifold has discolored considerably due to the many rides during which the journalists thoroughly tested the engine:

The two pre-mufflers for the exhaust cool the fumes nicely.

Not everything will be visible later, but it was fun to do, just like with the exhaust on my last Duc.

This is the current standing at the end of group 2:

More parts will be added to and on the engine later.

I've used 132 parts and 96 bolts in this group.
So far, 292 parts and 265 bolts.

The Interior.

The next step would be to install this part in the chassis:

But in the accompanying video instructions, I saw that the builder had considerable difficulty getting the following steps done neatly. He had to contort his hands to get everything neatly placed. He even tore a piece of fabric from the stitching... mmmmmm... that could be done differently.
PS: Perhaps it's striking... the driver sits with his legs on either side of the drive tunnel!

Now, with this loose part, I could easily reach it from all angles.

They neatly made the complex shift mechanism:

The whole thing was silver. I added a few small accents myself.
Now I can go back to where I left off in the manual.
