Model VICTORY by Deagostini, scale 1/84

I'm not complaining, I was just curious. Lighting always plays some tricks and the difference between threads is very subtle
What glue do you use to connect the threads?

Hi, Alex, when you solder as on pictures below, do you use a solder iron or a silver soldering with a torch? If you use an iron what is the wattage?

Good day, friends!
Minor updates to the construction site.
I installed the jig boom and its gear.

I haven’t cut the ends of the gear yet, because I have to tighten it, it’s all my fault ROTF . I’ll look at it for a few days, then I’ll fix it and delete what’s unnecessary.

collected the lanterns. Unfortunately, they are from a magazine. I bent the frames and soldered the joint with a soldering iron. Next I will paint.
Two fasteners, as can be seen in the photo, have fallen off. But this is not a big deal, because they will still have to be replaced with the correct ones, according to the drawings.

Hello friends! Thanks for the comments, likes and just stopping by to watch. The work continues and has gradually reached the completion stage. Although this is also not fast and not immediately. Many elements need to be made to give the final appearance of the model. And so: Sloop-beams. Manufactured, installed and tied

At first it was supposed to be left in a raised state, but I didn’t like the sag of the ropes. You can soak them in diluted PVA and form a deflection, I think for now.
Below is the second option: lower the sloop beams down, then the rigging is tensioned. But here another task arises - you need to make 2 watercraft.

In this regard, I have a question, maybe someone can tell me: how many and what kind of boats were required on a ship of the first rank in the English Navy at the end of the 18th - beginning of the 19th century? In Anatomy only 4 boats are mentioned.

Started making anchors. The first photo shows what is offered in the magazines. On the left, one anchor is painted (why only one, it’s not clear? These are questions for DeAgostini). The rods for three anchors are made of plywood, one of them is walnut. Everything is in the trash. The anchor on the right was processed and blackened. After blackening, I rubbed it with oil. I made a new rod from a pear and a yoke from a brass plate. Soldered with silver paste and a torch. Ink already after installation on the rod. We need to do 3 more.

Work continues. See you soon...

Alexander, your model of Victory stands out as one of the best I've ever seen. The details of the rivets were so precise that it appeared to be a real full scale rudder! Your model is becoming a masterpiece.

Kurt, thank you. I really try. For me, this project is primarily to test my capabilities, what I am capable of. So the bar keeps getting higher and higher.

I noticed that in my builds too. You start out with a certain level of detail and work in mind, then end up totally changing everything, all for the better. In the end, the model looks totally different that you thought it would at the beginning.
