Modelship Dockyard - New Kit [Modelship Dockyard] PoF H.M.S. Enterprize 1774, the 1/48 version!

That is a surprise for me. I looked a few dozen papers and all of them show over all costs are lower in China but not by as much as I thought before your post. The below chart is indicative of what I have been finding. The chart uses the USA as a base 100 then comparing Germany and China. The US and China are far closer than with other countries such as Germany according to this study.

Good Day Gents,
Ten or twelve years ago, a US Company used to sell a magnificent Swan Class sloop POF kit. Sadly she had to discontinuate her business as she was abruptly kicked out of the market by the first chinese competitors. kits like these are impossible to develope and produce in the western countries. Even Syrene ship Model Company sells BOF and just one small POF model for insane amounts of money, plus absolutely no chance to buy any of those guys from Europe due to the mentally hight shipping costs... and tariffs. So, let's admit Chinese kits are our only chance to get POF models without selling our home in advance.
Cheers!

1/48 Le Fleuron has been designed and completed. Four months ago, some Chinese clients started production, and this is their latest progress
Our products are usually first released in the Chinese market, and will only be available in the Western market after 1-2 years when the production documents are stable

Hi folks, this is Victor from Modelship Dockyard. First of all I want to wish you all, a happy Chinese/Lunar new year! It’s the year of Loong (Dragon). I know a lot of you are waiting, i’ve received many messages and emails about this kit. Now, as a “festival gift”, I’m now bringing you guys the 1/48 PoF HMS Enterprise 1774.

We released the 1/96 Enterprise a while ago, and have sold over 200 kits world wide.

But we realised that many of you not satisfied with the delicate guy, we have received multiple feedback, they want something LARGE. Well who don’t want a big one? We will get you satisfied! Also, unlike the 1/96 version or the previous Blandford kit, we will be providing rigging, to fill the regrets of those who want to have them on. Now without further ado, let’s jump into it.

Got mine on order. Waiting eagerly for delivery after Chinese New Year. I will like to begin a build log when l start, maybe April or May 2025. Will anyone else who has this kit on delivery be starting a build log?
JUst logged anew one Will do a full Unboxing

If an Enterprise 1/48 version Group Build (GB) is to start, there should be some guidelines set forth.

  1. At least 4-5 people are seriously interested and have the kit in hand ready to build. If less than that, SOS needs to have justification from each member as to why they feel a GB is necessary.
  2. This particular GB will not have sub-topics (forums) but will only have **one-container
  3. The **one-container principle allows for the GB to be dismantled and each separate "Builders Logs" to be moved into the "SOS Build Logs from Kits - Wood" section when or if the GB loses complete interest down to a level of only 2 active Separate Build Logs.

**One-container principle explained:
several of the other GB's have several SUB-FORUMS listed such as "support page", and "reviews" or "documentation". The one-container principle just means that a single GB FORUM will be created to "house" all members' Build Logs. Therefore, (in the future) if the GB loses complete interest EACH member Build Log can CONTINUE, but will be moved to the "SOS Build Logs from Kits" section.

I am sure the other Administrators would agree that this is an honest and fair policy for the Enterprise and offers community.

On a personal note, I have always favored Group Builds. The reason is that those who have more experience should offer help and guidance to those who need such attention and help. The more experienced modeler has a platform for others to follow. However, the Admins here strongly feel that minimum requirements need to be set forth. These are not discouraged, but encourage those to buy the kit and to join !!!
I have always been 100% in favor of anything to promote this Art.

Please respond with Yay or Nay so that I can proceed with setting up a GB of the Enterprise 1/48 pending a head count.

Kindly
Donald Driskell
