Hello Peter, I do thank you very much for understanding , the Focal is one of the areas that I have thought a lot about these last couple of days. As I want to add Led lighting this area would show up. The water tank is out as the deck is already planked and I do not want to tear it up, had I thought of it sooner I propyl would have added it but not now.

But even there I tend to want to change some things to suit the way that we want our ship to look like. 1/32 scale would only be about 4-1/2 feet long. That's not too big IMO.
But the 1/16 scale would be a museum piece...ha ha!

Hello Dean, 4-1/2feet may not seam very much to you but for a ship this size I would defiantly have to add on another room on our home or move to a new one. This is very scary after living in our home for over 45 years and having to move all of the stuff that we have collected would be a night mare. It would be a joy to be able to build a 1:16 scale ship but I am afraid that it can not happen. Two things first no room to start with and secondly I will not live long enough to finish such a beauty.1/32 scale would only be about 4-1/2 feet long. That's not too big IMO.
I suppose everyone has their own idea of big or too big. I was mainly referring to the fact that some kits are already that size, like the YQ San Felipe at 1:50 scale.
Hello Dean, Thanks for the come back on your YQ - San Felipe she sure is a big ship. I built the AL- HMS Victory at 1:84 making her in that same size range. She sits on a dresser in the back of my Old Ship Yard. I am afraid to build her a display case as it would be to heavy for me to lift, using glass. My Admiral worked in a glass store for years and does not like plastic glass, so that is out. In the mean time she sits up there collecting dust, a bit of a shame.I suppose everyone has their own idea of big or too big.
