Ummm...I got the same chisel set given to me as a present for my 1st place and a gold model in a shipbuilding competition in Vinnistsa, USSR (1979 if I remember correctly). Mine is in the wooden box, thought.
Wow! Your set is more complete than mine, but mine is already in a plastic case. The same plant - ЗИЗ (Запорожский инструментальный завод). This set was given to me by a friend of my father. In general, wood carving is an interesting activity, I’ll have to study it more seriously someday.
By the way, this year, in Vinnitsa, there will also be a ship modeling competition. I have already been invited to take part, but, unfortunately, I can’t do it.

Good Heavens!!! That set of chisels looks good, wood carving is the pending subject, at least for me, the best thing is to practice with the figureheads of the prow, I made a San Miguel archangel for the Santísima Trinidad. Cheer up, the pedestal of La Niña and the legend turned out great for you.

One more little thing: I forged and blackened the nails from 0.60 mm steel wire. They will be used in fastening cleats and beams to the sides.

Which blackening technique have you applied?
I clamp a steel nail and, using the open flame of a gas torch, heat it red hot. When the nail turned red, I quickly put it in a jar of machine oil. Then it turns out black. Previously, I simply glowed the wire red-hot, without using oil, but in this case the color turns out not black, but rather gray.
It's the same bluing technique used for gun barrels. It's a very good and reliable technique.
Finally, I finished the main mast. To be honest, I had to struggle, especially with the basket on top. I succeeded only on the third attempt and by the end I was very annoyed.
To unwind a little, I decided to take a short bike ride, and at the same time discover the cycling season. I went to the nearest exit to the sea, and it was a little more than 26 km there and back.
By the way, I later read in a news channel that on the same day the sea threw a sea mine onto the beach where I was skating (photo from that news). Naturally, we are not talking about any politics.
To unwind a little, I decided to take a short bike ride, and at the same time discover the cycling season. I went to the nearest exit to the sea, and it was a little more than 26 km there and back.

An excellent and clean job, the mast caulking has turned out great, and the figurehead is very similar to those of the era. Congratulations, now onto the next one.

Excellent work, that rigging, wonderful, what wood did you make the masts and peaks from?
It was mostly gray beech wood, which I coated with oak alcohol stain. However, my reserves were not enough for everything, so I also used some kind of light porous wood - I don’t know what it’s called.

Perhaps, but I cannot say this with certainty. I saw poplars only as trees growing along the road

In Ukraine, in the city of Vinnitsa, the next Ship Modeling Championship was held. About 140 models of different ships were presented at the competition among adults and juniors.
