@AMac
you can follow this link. The Paasch is very helpfull and has as well lot of drawings inside.

Not sure were to past this but I would really like some advice. Can anyone suggest a book that is in English and won't break the bank that gives the basic names and descriptions of the parts or of 18th century ships( ribs, knees, escutcheon, .forebitt et al. If it also includes rigging it would be a real bonus
One of the most important books in english and showing english construction with a lot of details is this one:

The Construction and Fitting of the Sailing Man-of-War, 1650-1850 (Conway's History of Sail) (Hardcover)
by Peter Goodwin

and for rigging
The Masting and Rigging of English Ships of War, 1625-1860
By James Lees

Take also a look at other books shown in our book review area, you will find a lot of information with Look Inside

Thank you for the review
They're building a replica of this ship in the original town (if not the same shipyard) and basing it on the Canadian archeological survey, investigation and thorough documentation of the remaining pieces of this ship-which is also in these books.

Some material to avoid boring times on christmas...View attachment 197987
Very good, that you decided also to buy the "new" set of the 74-gunship drawings (which were made later than the four books)
A very good addition to the four volume set of the Boudriot books.
Did you also order the really new sail drawings?
