Newb builds a Dory! [COMPLETED BUILD]

I decided I wanted to eventually build my USS CONSTITUTION but needed to gain some skills and ship building knowledge to achieve that goal ! In doing so I bought the triple kit for model expo and started on the Dory!

Kit? Try building one from scratch. Use basswood and veneer. This is a driftboat (McKenzie river dory) I built from a book on driftboats and dories.

That’s a 1/5 scale Cessna L-19 Bird Dog reconnaissance plane from the Vietnam war era!

When you get to the Connie just keep in mind it is one piece/part at a time…concentrate on that one part…don’t get overwhelmed by the thousand more parts in the box!

The Dory is finished, except for the beckets. The rope they supplied is more like Cable than rope. I’ll be looking to pick something more suitable for the beckets!

Very well done! Please note that a model like this seems “easy” but not always. The planking is still a challenge! Great model!
