NORSKE LOVE - Billing Boats 1:75 scale

It’s probably beneficial I build puzzles, because sometimes in model building we have to make puzzle pieces! :p
To finish the ends I had to make some trapezoid shaped puzzle pieces that fit perfectly, as these will be painted red and any gaps will be highlighted.

In the end, it wasn’t perfect, but good enough for paint. Now I will finish cutting out the cannon port openings! ;)

Dean,
Just found your log - will follow along - all looks very good!
PS: love your Avatar - been tempted for years to build one of there ;)

Nothing ugly at all! I find the walkway on the bulwark very interesting. And how you buildup and strengthened that bulwark with also the ‘inner’ knees.
Regards, Peter
Thanks Peter! Any work in progress never has the finished look, and therefore I call in progress work the ugly stage! :p
The red paint will create more continuity, as right now it looks segmented.
It was an interesting challenge to figure out how to use what I had (existing frames) and create a wall of proper thickness and frame the cannon ports. I think it is a reasonable compromise, considering what they gave me to work with. The only other option is to totally scratch build the entire bulwarks. But that option was limited by the fact that the deck was already planked. Repairing and matching that was not an option in my opinion! ;)

Thank you very much!
I do have a build log on the Camel, and I started the Albatross. I also have a Nieuport as well and a P-38 lightning in 1/16 scale. So many airplanes in my future! Great - will drop by and go through your Sopwith....
Great - your Sopwith images are superb!!, and I will follow the Albatross. These types of kits are indeed super great.....

Basically any work in progress, complete or not! ;) …there are degrees of ugliness! :p
I am a member of a group of ‘sportive youngsters’. We call ourself the WKJ’s = ‘Wij Knapper Jongens”.
Funny that’s to translate in ‘Us Good Looking Youngsters. Across the border, we can now call ourself the UGLY’s.
And indeed, Dean, there are degrees of ugliness ……. We still have work in progress, in terms of condition and tightness. And we are still not complete, in terms of quantity or material.
So, Your quote is absolutely correct and I do agree. :)ROTF

See, you lot are turning words and meanings around so much, that we now all believe ugly is beautiful, and vice versa, sort of.

...nothing (other than my grandkids) can make me happier to see such WKJers! Maybe it's because I am from the same UGLY company, just across the ocean! ;)
