When I first looked at this post on my tiny phone screen the first thought I had was: did he just paint his ship light blue?

@dockattner , luckily I didn't, masking was absolutely necessary as the black ink tends to wander over places you don't want it to.
Now I want to finish the black details before I do a nicer surface finish with finer sandpaper / steel wool.-

a short hint, which can be useful
some paint on places where the paint should not be, or also laser char can be removed gently with a sharp chisel or I use often such fiberglass erasers

usually you can get them also in shops for art supplies / painters - well known in german speaking area is f.e. Gerstaeker, where I usualy order all paints
