Hello everyone this is my most recent purchase, I bought it because I'm trying my hand at scratch building , currently the Sussex 1693 navy board model, great saw from resawing to tight curves with Carter blade stabilizer, I'm very happy with it

Take the time to tune it up properly. Buy decent blades. It'll serve you well.

I have the same bandsaw, a good reliable machine. Phil is right, tune it and you’ll get a lot of enjoyment from it.

I'll be interested in how you make out with the Italeri scissors. I had a pair of pliers that had a spring like that and it would bite me almost every time I used them.
Hallo Don,

during weekend i opened the box and took these small scissors in hand - the total length is appr. 12 cm

and when you take them into hand and work with this tool - the ending is not ouching the hand, it is too short to bite you

so - the scissors are not dangerous

Ultimation Slicer
Picked up this little jewel from www.ultimation.ca
01_Slicer.jpg
All metal construction very rigid construction produces nice crisp cuts

02_Close up.jpg
Close up showing the adjustable miter gage

03_ adjustable stop.jpg
Comes with a packet of spare blades & a replacement cutting pad insert

04_Blade.jpg
The blade is ground with a bevel on one side only which gives clean cuts. Not your typical utility knife blade.

Haven't given it a long road test as yet however the test cuts are excellent, and the miter cuts are perfect.
The miter gage makes angle cuts a breeze.
Have a deck planking project in the works and will give it a good test.......

Is it the Ultimate? Don't know but it sure is close ;)

Hi, thank you for posting this tool. I didn't know it existed. I have the micromark cuter. It's doing the job. Nothing to regret. But yours Ultimatiom slicer looks fantastically well done.

On the company's videos you can not see how the miter gauge, is attached to the slicer. Would you be so kind to post a picture.

Moreover, the blade cuts flat one side. Let's say I need to cut 4 pieces of wood 4x4 each piece 10 mm long, from a 500 mm piece long.

After I calibrate the miter, when I cut the first piece, it will be flat both sides, correct ?

But I need to remember that on the left over 500 mm piece i have to remove the left over beveled side before cutting again. Correct ?

You just cut 1 mm off of that end and done. As the company's videos showed.

But !!! With the miter installed how do you manage a 4x4 piece of wood that has 500 mm long, to turn it each time to remove the beveled side.

The company's videos show those situations, but never with the miter gauge installed on the slicer.

I hope I was able to explain myself and I hope if you can post some pictures isn't bothering you too much.

In a simple way: you have the miter installed and from a , long 4x4 you want to cut 2 or more 10 mm pieces with both sides flat. Who do you do it ?

Thank you !!!!!
Daniel

Not sure I understand your question. length doesn't matter as you can always flip the piece lengthwise. When I have the need to cut heavier materials I use my Byrnes table saw.

The miter gage is attached by the two thumb screws & just loosen the two screws to adjust the angle.
